The Downtown Adventure – Your First Flight Lesson Over Chicago!

Take the controls and experience the thrill of flying an airplane yourself — with breathtaking views of downtown Chicago!

This isn’t just an airplane ride — it’s a REAL FLIGHT LESSON, and absolutely no previous flying experience is necessary! In fact, this is Lesson #1 of our flight training program, should you decide to continue toward earning your pilot’s license.

The Downtown Adventure includes all the hands-on flight training experiences of our Northern Adventure, but with almost DOUBLE the flying time! That extra time allows you to venture beyond the local area and experience the incredible Chicago skyline from the pilot’s seat!

Your Downtown Chicago Flight Adventure

Your flight departs from Chicago Executive Airport and takes you over Glenview, Deerfield, Northbrook, Winnetka, and Evanston. Once you reach the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline, you’ll turn south toward downtown Chicago, enjoying spectacular views of the lakefront and city skyline.

You’ll experience an unforgettable aerial tour of downtown Chicago, including the Loop, the iconic Willis (Sears) Tower, and the John Hancock Center. On your return, you’ll fly north past Wrigley Field, Skokie, and Lincolnwood before heading back to Chicago Executive Airport.

And the best part? YOU get to fly the airplane!

You’re Not Just a Passenger — You’re the Pilot!

Your adventure begins when you’re paired with an FAA Certified Flight Instructor who will guide you through the same procedures real pilots perform before, during, and after every flight.

During your lesson, you’ll:

• Preflight the Airplane: Perform an actual preflight inspection, just like a pilot.
• Taxi the Aircraft: Take the controls and taxi toward the runway.
• Talk to Air Traffic Control: Experience communicating with the airport control tower.
• Assist with Takeoff: Feel the excitement as your airplane lifts off the runway.
• Fly the Airplane: Take the controls and perform a variety of in-flight maneuvers.
• Explore Chicago from Above: Experience the incredible skyline and lakefront from an entirely new perspective!

Your instructor will be seated right beside you, providing guidance and ensuring your safety throughout the experience. They’ll show you what to do, but YOU’LL be doing most of the flying!

Whether you’re considering becoming a pilot, searching for an extraordinary gift, or simply looking for an unforgettable Chicago-area adventure, this hands-on flying experience is something you’ll remember for years to come.

Total Experience: Approximately 2 hours or more, including approximately 1 FULL HOUR of actual flight time!
